We have a number of opportunities to develop and practice your bridge skills at Mid-Herts. Organised bridge events appear in the club diary. A summary of what is on offer is set out below. If you have any questions or are willing to help organise these activities (or indeed suggest new ones!) please contact Peter Bennett (07713 166595) by phone or text.

‘Supper’ bridge

Usually on the 1st Wednesday evening of the month (at least 12 players needed). Very informal Chicago bridge evening with a 1 course supper (£15 per head at the time of writing). Friendly and helpful welcome guaranteed for those new to the game.  Signup sheets on notice board (or call Jane on 01707 262879). In December there is a special Christmas event with dinner and prizes plus a raffle in support of the captains’ charities.

Mixed Charity Bridge Drive

Open Chicago bridge event, usually in March, in support of the captains’ charities - members are welcome to invite friends (non-members) to this event. Afternoon event including afternoon tea. Signup sheet will appear on the notice board well in advance of the event.

Duplicate Pairs

We used to run duplicate pairs competitions once a month and will consider restarting them if there is sufficient interest and a volunteer willing to help organise these sessions.

Women's Winter League (organiser Janet Jordan 01438 831045)

Women pair up in 3 groups to accumulate points over the winter playing Chicago bridge. Best 4 pairs in the groups contest the semifinals with the eventual overall winners being crowned champions for the year.

We are open to considering a men’s winter league if a volunteer comes forward to organise it.

Women's Social Bridge

Informal Chicago bridge (just turn up) on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
